Humanitarian Crisis in Venezuela

Currently, a humanitarian crisis occurring in Venezuela due to rapid inflation and economic recession has rendered deficient supplies of the most basic necessities such as toilet paper and medicine. Additionally, the government has refused international aid, compounding the issue. The steps taken to mitigate the crisis have thus far proved ineffectual, with measures such as regulated prices on foods and other commodities, that is, such commodities being sold a drastically lower prices. However, such commodities are often unavailable and insufficient. In the event that the Venezuelan government requests international aid, the DCDS community may consider getting involved, providing water, food, or money to organizations based in Michigan that provide international aid such as Doctors Without Borders. Such an act is a representation of the commitment of DCDS to providing for the community.
